Our Promise: Your privacy is fundamental to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the Contatinhos application.

Important: By using Contatinhos, you agree to this Privacy Policy. For your safety, we recommend that you do not share sensitive information with other users, such as banking details, passwords, full residential address, or other personally identifiable information until you establish mutual trust. Always meet in public and safe locations, and inform friends or family about your plans.

1. Information We Collect

1.1. Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly when creating an account and using the Application:

Account Information: Email, password (encrypted), name, date of birth
Profile: Gender, biography, profile photos, search preferences (age, distance, interests, looking-for)
Location: GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) when you allow location access
Preferences: Language, notification settings, privacy preferences
Marketing consent: Record of your consent (and date) to receive promotional emails and product updates
Messages: Content of messages sent through the Application's chat
Interactions: History of likes, dislikes, and matches
Payment Information: Subscription data and transaction history (processed by third-party payment providers)
Face verification (optional): Biometric data derived from the camera, as described in section 1.4

1.2. Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Application, we automatically collect certain information:

Usage Data: How you interact with the Application, features used, usage time
Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
Logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, access times
Device Tokens: For sending push notifications
Cookies and Similar Technologies: To improve experience and Application functionality

1.3. Third-Party Information

We may receive information about you from third parties, including:

Payment providers and official app stores to process subscriptions
Analytics and advertising services (when applicable)

1.4. Biometric data and face verification

Sensitive data (LGPD): Face verification produces biometric data. Creating a Contatinhos account does not require face verification; it is optional and may be requested for certain security actions (for example, likes/chat when the protection is enabled, or biometric password reset).

When you choose to enroll in face verification:

We use the device camera to capture your face during a liveness / anti-spoofing flow
We process those images on-device and/or on our systems to generate numeric face representations — we do not store the verification captures as profile photos
We store biometric data associated with your account in a restricted way (limited access; not shown on your public profile)
Purpose: authenticate that you are a real person and the account holder; reduce fraud and fake accounts; enable biometric account recovery when enabled
Legal basis (LGPD): specific consent obtained in the Application before capture begins; you may withdraw it by deleting your account or removing face enrollment when available
Retention: while the account is active and face enrollment remains enabled; when you delete the account, we delete face verification data and verification status
Sharing: we do not sell biometric data; we do not show it to other users

1.5. Marketing emails and newsletter

We may send commercial communications (tips, product news, and offers) to your account email only when you opt in. Marketing consent is optional: you can create and use an account without receiving them.

We store whether you consented and the consent date
You may unsubscribe at any time via unsubscribe links in emails or available support/settings channels
Operational emails (security, password changes, essential service notices) may be sent regardless of marketing consent when needed to provide the service

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

Provide the Service: Create and manage your account, connect you with other users, facilitate matches and communication
Personalize Your Experience: Show relevant profiles based on your preferences and location
Process Payments: Manage subscriptions and process transactions
Send Notifications: Alerts about matches, messages, and other relevant activities
Marketing (with consent): Send promotional emails and product updates
Verification and security: Liveness checks, fraud prevention, and biometric authentication when you enroll your face
Improve the Application: Analyze usage, identify issues, develop new features
Security and Moderation: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, Terms of Use violations; moderate uploaded photos
Communication: Send updates about the service, changes to terms or policies
Legal Compliance: Meet legal obligations, respond to government requests

3. Information Sharing

3.1. Information Shared with Other Users

When you use the Application, certain information from your profile is visible to other users:

Name, age, profile photos
Biography and search preferences
Approximate distance (when location is active)
Match status (when there is a mutual match)
Messages sent through chat (only for users with match)

WARNING: You are responsible for the content you share. We cannot control how other users use the information you share. Use the Application with care and do not share sensitive information until you establish trust.

3.2. Sharing with Service Providers

We may share your information with third parties who help us operate the Application:

Payment Providers: Certified partners to process payments and subscriptions
Hosting and Infrastructure: Contracted cloud service providers to operate the service securely
Analytics and Monitoring: Services to analyze usage and Application performance
Push Notifications: Notification service providers to send alerts

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for specified purposes.

3.3. Sharing for Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:

Comply with laws, regulations, or legal processes
Protect rights, property, or safety of Contatinhos, our users, or third parties
Investigate or prevent illegal activities, fraud, or violations of Terms of Use
Respond to government authority requests

3.4. Business Transfers

If Contatinhos is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any changes in ownership or use of your information.

4. Information Security

We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your information:

Encryption: Passwords are stored using secure hashing (bcrypt)
Secure Communication: Use of HTTPS/TLS for data transmission
Limited Access: Only authorized employees have access to information
Monitoring: Monitoring systems to detect suspicious activities
Secure Backups: Data is stored with redundancy and regular backups

LIMITATION AND USER RESPONSIBILITY: No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Although we implement robust security measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security against all types of threats. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (email and password). Any sharing of your credentials with third parties, whether intentional or not, is your exclusive responsibility. Contatinhos will not be responsible for any unauthorized access resulting from user credential sharing, use of weak passwords, or failure to maintain the security of your devices. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account that you suspect.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1. Access and Correction

You can access, update, or correct your profile information at any time through the Application settings.

5.2. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the Application settings. When you delete your account:

We remove your personally identifiable information
We delete face verification and biometric data associated with the account
Messages may be removed or anonymized
We may retain certain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes
Information already shared with other users may not be removable

5.3. Location

You can disable location sharing through device settings. Note that this may limit Application features, such as finding nearby users. We primarily request location while the Application is in use to calculate proximity.

5.4. Notifications and marketing

You can manage push notifications through the Application or device settings. For marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in emails or contact us.

5.5. Face verification

Face enrollment is optional. Without it, you can still create an account and browse; some protected actions may require verification when that protection is enabled. When you delete your account, biometric verification data is removed.

5.6. Cookies and Tracking

You can control cookies through browser settings, but this may affect Application and website functionality.

5.7. Where to read this policy

This Privacy Policy is published on the Contatinhos website. The Application opens this page in the browser for reading (it does not store a full copy of the policy inside the app).

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to:

Provide the service while your account is active
Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements
Detect and prevent fraud and abuse

After account deletion, we may retain anonymized or aggregated information that does not personally identify you.

7. Children's Privacy

Contatinhos is intended only for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to Contatinhos, please contact us immediately.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be transferred and stored in facilities located outside Brazil. By using the Application, you consent to the transfer of your information to these facilities.

We ensure that these transfers are made in accordance with adequate security measures and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

9. User Responsibility

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Protecting your account credentials (email and password)
Not sharing sensitive information (address, phone, financial information) until you establish trust
Using the Application responsibly and respectfully
Reporting inappropriate or suspicious behavior
Respecting other users' privacy
Not using other users' information for unauthorized purposes

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:

How other users use information you share
Privacy violations caused by other users
Consequences of sharing personal information with other users
Misuse of the Application by third parties
Damages resulting from in-person meetings or relationships formed through the Application

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes through the Application or by email. Your continued use of the Application after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.

We recommend that you review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Brazil, including the General Data Protection Law (LGPD - Law No. 13.709/2018).
